First Bible Bashing

October 17, 2016

This week is transfers… and I have some super exciting\super sad news… I’m transferring! My new area is supposed to be in a very countryside area, with a small branch! My new companion and I will be opening the area together, so we both don’t know what to expect, but honestly, I’m sooo excited. I think there’s lots of miracles there waiting for us :))

This week was an awesome week. I think my favorite memory came from my first “Bible bashing” lesson.. (ps we didn’t know beforehand it would turn into that kind of lesson and it was a gr8t surprise) the lady that we met with was super nice, but also she attends신천지. which is a church that believes the second coming has already happened, and Jesus Christ is a Korean. and they are very, very passionate church members. SO the lesson started out normal and then she pulled out her Bible and started.. bashing… us hahah… she basically preached to us for a solid 20 minutes. Luckily, it was a bunch of big Korean words that I don’t know… so i just listened and smiled. But then, after she finished, she invited us to explain the Book of Mormon.  By this point, I was kind of scared because I am not a scriptorian in English, and especially not a scriptorian in Korean. I can barely really understand one chapter of the Book of Mormon after an hour of studying it!  But we said a prayer and started with the restoration. Throughout the lesson, she questioned just about everything we said, but everything she questioned, we could back up with a verse in the Book of Mormon or the Bible. Walking away, it really taught me that this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ. Because we are built on the rock, the Savior and His gospel, it’s a sure foundation that can’t be shaken. There is nothing that can come against the gospel, that could ever break it’s foundation.

I know that Jesus Christ’s gospel is established through prophets. I know Joseph Smith restored Jesus Christ’s church on the earth today in the final dispensation. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon, and I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Everyone can know this for themselves too, just pray and ask. You’ll receive your answer through the Holy Ghost.

It’s really simple and beautiful.

Have a good week!
